There will come a time when we will be called upon to act in defense of the cause we believe in. It will not be enough to merely stand by and watch others do our fighting for us.

-Kitty Smith, quoting Henry Donaldson

Absolutely intriguing book to complement the first two in the series! The tension in this story grips the reader from the beginning and builds throughout the novel. Once again Amber Perry brings intrigue, family complexities, political turmoil, and relationship intricacies to her latest tale.

The series continues with the introduction of Anna Martin Rone, a young woman who is not quite what she seems to be upon her arrival in the colonies from England. This third book tells the story of Anna and Henry Donaldson, who we met in the second novel. I thoroughly enjoy being able to read about my favorite characters from previous novels in a series.  In this book, the reintroduction of past characters feels a bit like catching up with old friends you haven’t seen in awhile.

The Revolutionary War is beginning, and the siege of Boston plays a role in this novel. Once again faith in God and a belief and dedication to freedom and liberty, both political and personal add dimension to the story.

Read this intriguing tale of the early Revolutionary War to find out how Anna Rone and Henry Donaldson cross paths and unite to save themselves during a complex time in history. The intriguing ending surely hints at more to come! A truly enjoyable read for fans of historical fiction, inspirational fiction, and romance!

This ARC copy was received from Liberty Publishing and the author in exchange for an honest review. The above thoughts and opinions are wholly my own.
